Today, our 5th grade students embarked on an incredible virtual field trip, made possible by Act One and their virtual reality headsets! 🌟
Students explored the work of three local Indigenous Arizona artists, diving into themes of weaving, storytelling, music, public art, and cultural heritage. This immersive experience brought art and culture to life in a whole new way.
Thank you, Act One, for inspiring creativity and enriching learning through the arts! 🎨

🏪Manzanita Marketplace was back last week for Manzanita Elementary School students. Young entrepreneurs eagerly displayed their items for sale, while enthusiastic buyers couldn’t wait to make their purchases!
🌟This fun event, a favorite for students, offers a hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, allowing them to master the ins and outs of running a business while spending their hard-earned Dragon Dollars.

Last week, Principal Kimberly Ward of Manzanita Elementary organized a "Coffee with the Principal" event ☕.
She welcomed parents of her students to share any suggestions or concerns they might have. During the meeting, she took notes and also introduced the concept of the "Power of Yet." It’s all about recognizing that while your child might not be where they want to be just yet, with the combined support of the school and parents, they're on their way to achieving their goals.
We’re all about these partnerships that contribute to the success of every student! Let's keep working together! 💪

Our committed KUSD staff and administration are actively working during the summer break to create even more engaging and interactive learning experiences for our students! 🍎📝 While our students enjoy their summer vacation, some of our staff members are diligently preparing for the upcoming school year by participating in Mindset Training!

Meet Ms. Tallon, Third Grade Teacher Extraordinaire!
We’re thrilled to introduce Ms. Tallon, a passionate and dedicated third grade teacher who is working hard to make next school year unforgettable for her students. She’s currently raising funds to expand and enrich her classroom library and to purchase full class sets of novels for engaging and meaningful novel studies.
Her goal is to provide her students with access to diverse, high-quality books that inspire a love of reading, build comprehension skills, and open doors to new ideas and perspectives.
If you’d like to support her mission and help build a library her students will cherish, please consider donating here:
