Manzanita A & B Schedule Welcome Letter

Dear Manzanita Families,

This week, the Kingman Unified School District Governing Board met to review the current health data.    Kingman Unified School District is on track to start an A/B schedule on Tuesday, September 8th. This means students would attend school two days per week (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday).  Students with last names starting with A-K will attend school on Mondays and Wednesdays.  Students with last names starting with L-Z will attend school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  If there are multiple names in a household, the oldest sibling’s last name will be used.  Please confirm your child’s scheduled day with your child’s teacher.

Students will be expected to wear a face covering and a school shirt on the days they are present.  They will need to bring their individual school supplies including a backpack.   It is very important that students bring a water bottle on the days they come to school since water fountains will be utilized as water bottle filling stations only.  Students will be provided with assignments for each core subject to complete on the weekdays they are working from home.  These will be paper assignments that can be turned in on their next “in-person” day and will be counted for attendance.  We will continue using the Google Classroom as needed and especially if the school has to close for any reason. If you have borrowed technology from the school, please keep the device at home for this purpose.  All devices will need to be returned and in good working condition at a later date.

Morning Procedures

Students coming on the bus or walking to school will come through the walker’s gate.  If you are driving your child to school, please drop your child off at the West gate.  The East Gate will be closed.  Parents need to park their vehicle and walk their child to the gate.  All students will have their temperature checked upon arrival.  Students will go to the cafeteria for breakfast or to their teacher’s classroom. The playground will be closed before school during the first week of school.

Afternoon Procedures

Students may go home in one of the following ways.  Please respond to your child’s teacher regarding your child’s go-home procedures (choose one):

West Gate (dirt parking lot)-Parent parks vehicle and walks to the gate to pick up child.  No ID required.

Lower East Gate (paved parking lot)-Parent parks vehicle and walks to the gate to pick up child.  ID required.  Lower East is primarily used for K-2 students.

Upper East Gate (paved parking lot)-Parent parks vehicle and walks to the gate to pick up child.  ID Required. Upper East is primarily used for 3-5 students.

Bus-Students must wear a face covering on the bus.  Respond to your child’s teacher regarding the RT and bus stop.  Parents of kindergarten students must fill out the “Transportation Information Form”.

Please see the back of this letter regarding student’s daily schedule.  We are excited to see your student for in-person instruction two days per week.  Go dragons!
